On a Greek island, especially in winter, time seems to go slower than in the rest of the world. The rhythms are marked by the conditions of the sky and the sea and reality finds an explanation in an intricate intertwining of myths, memories, history, traditions and science. It so happens that the warm temperatures of these days are not only determined by meteorological causes but also by a couple so in love as to involuntarily offend the gods, a compassionate Zeus and a beautiful sea bird, the Alcyone (or kingfisher).

Su un'isola greca, soprattutto in inverno, il tempo sembra scorrere più lento che nel resto del mondo. I ritmi sono spesso dettati dalle condizioni del cielo e del mare e la realtà trova una spiegazione in intrecci di miti, memorie, storia, tradizioni e scienza. Succede così che le temperature tiepide di questi giorni non dipendano solo da cause meteorologiche ma anche da una coppia tanto innamorata da offendere involontariamente gli dei, da un compassionevole Zeus e da un variopinto uccello marino, l'Alcione (o martin pescatore).
