On this day, the doors of houses are colored with garlands of flowers, usually hand-picked and woven, to celebrate the power of nature and welcome summer with a veritable riot of colors and scents. The crowns will be left to dry and burned on June 24th on the night of San Giovanni.
Making a wreath for May Day is easy, just have some flowers, string and wire. We have prepared ours with wild flowers and aromatic plants from the garden. You can add some garlic or a Mati against the evil eye before hanging it on the door or on the balcony.
